In longwall mining, the mining process is becoming more and more automated. In various situations, for example, when using the suspended wall interruption method, operator intervention is required to make corrections or actual control.
EEP offers several options for remote control.
Remote control with location recognition
For 20 years there have been remote controls to perform the functions of the hydraulic shield support. Until now, remote controls have not been widely accepted as a complex registration process is required for the respective controller. Along with a position recognition system, EEP has developed a remote control that recognizes the operator's position within the long wall and thus automatically connects to the local control unit.
PR-CON-RC
The PR-CON-RC remote control is designed to remotely control display extensions equipped with PR-CON-324/4xx display control units (SCU).
The integrated location recognition feature of the remote control enables continuous location tracking in addition to automatic recording. Configurable safety zones prevent shield extensions in danger zones from working in any way. In addition to a more efficient process through automatic and therefore significantly faster registration, operator security is greatly enhanced through configurable restricted zones.
If a position recognition system is not available, the remote control can alternatively establish a connection to the desired control unit via an IR signal.
Remote control
All individual functions as well as group and automatic functions can be activated and controlled via the PR-CON-RC.
Screen
If necessary, the large graphic display shows all necessary information about the remote-controlled shield supports or the entire long leg control system.
Free Fall Detection
In addition, "free fall detection" is included, which prevents accidental use of the remote if it is dropped and accidental triggering of a function button.
